January 15th, 1969 - December 13th, 2024

Wendi Lynn Turner was born on Wednesday, January 15, 1969, at Allentown Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She was the first child born to Paula and James Turner. She attended Claremont High School, Claremont, CA in 1986 and graduated from Cal Poly, Pomona in 2000 with a degree in Computer Science.

Her first job, post graduation, was as a software engineer at Western Digital, a preeminent computer disc drive manufacturer. Her career progressed in software design & development and Project Management through various technology companies in and around Southern California.

She never married, nor had any natural children. After a 5-year battle with cancer, she past Saturday morning, December 13th, 2024, in her own home. She is survived by her beloved, ever present, dog, Churro, cats Ford and Lola, her mother, Paula VanHorn and stepfather Dan VanClapp of Claremont, CA, her father, James Q. Turner and his wife Ruth M. Turner of Estes Park, CO, her sister, Kimberly Ann Turner of Claremont, CA and her "soul" child, Eadyn Ochoa of Fullerton, CA.

In her later years, she ever so enjoyed e-biking up and down the coast and horseback riding.

Along the way, she fell victim to alcoholism, a global endemic that wreaks havoc on families, careers and communities around the world with close to 15% afflicted in the United States alone. In 2003, she joined AA and became a friend of Bill's. She had remained sober ever since and become a fierce advocate of sobriety and the AA program. She helped countless others around Southern California and the world struggling with alcoholism either as a sponsor or as an amazing and powerful speaker at AA meetings in either english or spanish. She leaves behind a vast circle of her AA family.
